Capturing Leads on Free Traffic Exchanges

There are 3 basic components to capturing leads on free traffic exchanges that need to be understood. Lead capture pages, Autoresponder follow up systems, and Ad tracking URLs.

The lead capture page can be hosted anywhere but it needs to have at least one thing on it to be effective... a way to capture a person's email address.

Why waste your traffic exchange credits sending user's to your sales page where they only have 15 seconds to decide whether they are interested in your product or service? It is too easy just to let your website rotate to the next causing you to lose a potential prospect.

If you set up an incentive-laden lead capture web page (by incentive I mean a contest or freebie for providing their email address) that has a short tag line about your product or service combined with a 2 line form consisting of name and email address you have a simple yet incredibly powerful marketing tool.

Eyes on your eCommerce Website

In a recent article I talked about Google AdSense placement based on eye-tracking research. However, research by The Poynter Institute, Eyetools and the Estlow Center for Journalism and New Media has a lot to say about more than where to put an AdSense block.

Designing an eCommerce site is more than making it pretty. You have certain desired actions you're looking for from your visitors. You have specific things you want to be sure they see and hopefully act on. Now, there's some research that can guide your design. Certainly you want your site to look professional, but you want it to do its job as effectively as possible too.

People are surprisingly alike in some of their basic visual behavior. It's been argued that our evolution as hunter-gatherers has shaped much of our ingrained visual patterns. Whether you buy that particular argument or not there are still important commonalities.

"Move Your Reader To Action Using Command Copy!"

From the 'guru' marketers to multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 companies most of them have one thing in common - All Use Command Copy!

You see it on sales letters and on television: Act Now!
- Order Now! - Pick Up The Phone And Call Now!
- Do it Now! - Take Action Today!

Command copy creates impulses to act!

It has the power to make a reader actually pick up the phone and order when otherwise he would have put it off if the command had not been given.

I'm not saying you turned him into a robot that had to obey you and order. I'm saying that when you gave the command to: 'Go Ahead And Order Now' ..you helped give him the impulse to act. You 'opened' his mind up to the thought of actually going ahead and picking up the phone to call. Tell your reader exactly what he should do and it will shock you when you discover he actually does it!
