Creating Your Own Product: What Should You Write About?

You would like to create your own information product, but you are stuck. What the heck should you write about? This could be the hardest step involved in this entire process. The reason I say that is because when you begin ANYTHING for the first time it ALWAYS seems that much more difficult due to it BEING the very first time.

Add to that the fact that for some people, writing is an almost impossible task. But let me just tell you that writing up an article, special report, or a 340 page ebook isn't any different than learning to roller blade. Except that you'll get a lot less bumps and bruises! At least physically anyway :-)

But it doesn't have to be this way. The best advice for WHAT to write is write about WHAT YOU KNOW. That makes everything SO much easier. And, don't think you don't know ANYTHING, because everyone knows something.

Improving Your Conversion Reduces the Need to Constantly Promote Your Sites

I just got off the phone with Michael Fortin, one of the top copywriters and conversion experts on the web.

We were doing a teleseminar for our members on conversion and testing for website owners wanting more out of the traffic they already enjoy, rather than constantly having to promote their sites to support low conversion rates. Specifically, we were talking about all the things you can do to test different "calls to action."

A call to action is anything you are trying to get people to do on any particular site or page of a site. It could be buying a product or service, getting people on an announcement list or newsletter, or getting people to click on your advertising links.

Most web publishers are so happy when they finally have a site up that they consider their work done and get right to marketing it. Once the traffic rolls in, they enjoy whatever sales or clicks they get and try to make more money by driving MORE traffic to the site.

Protecting Your Search Engine Rankings

Your website's ranking on search engines is a vital element of your overall marketing campaign, and there are ways to improve your link popularity through legitimate methods. Unfortunately, the Internet is populated by bands of dishonest webmasters seeking to improve their link popularity by faking out search engines.

The good news is that search engines have figured this out, and are now on guard for "spam" pages and sites that have increased their rankings by artificial methods. When a search engines tracks down such a site, that site is demoted in ranking or completely removed from the search engine's index.

The bad news is that some high quality, completely above-board sites are being mistaken for these web page criminals. Your page may be in danger of being caught up in the "spam" net and tossed from a search engine's index, even though you have done nothing to deserve such harsh treatment. But there are things you can do - and things you should be sure NOT to do - which will prevent this kind of misperception.

How to leverage the Internet in MLM

Most people who try to leverage the Internet to build their MLM business wake up to the rude awakening that Network Marketing in the Internet age requires a whole lot more than just having a web site.

Your marketing system should fulfill four critical functions in order to peek the interest of your prospect to the point where they either come back to you for more information, or they remove themselves from the prospect pool.

First of all, your system should promote you as a professional. This adds to your credibility and makes it much easier for your prospects to understand that you are serious about your business and that you are capable of helping them.

To accomplish this, whatever resource you use to begin to promote your business should somehow be professionally labeled or marked as coming from you. This is not to say that you must be the author or presenter of the material, but that material should be accompanied buy some promotional entity which depicts you as the deliverer of professional information.
